Crowdfunding Company IDEAME Launches in Latin America

IDEAME.com has announced its official launch and the conclusion of its first round of financing during the 2011 Endeavor Entrepreneur Summit which took place in San Francisco between the 28th and the 30th of June.

With the goal of using crowdfunding to finance talented Latin American professionals, IDEAME functions as a social network where creatives are able to share their ideas.

The collective financing model, also known as crowdfunding, has grown exponentially in recent years thanks to social networking. Our platform seeks to secure financing for creative projects in Latin America in a variety of areas, including music, cinema, visual arts, design, fashion, innovation and technology. Sebastian Uchitel, General Manager of IDEAME.com

The company expects to launch its online platform in August 2011 and has the support of several noteworthy investors in the region. Among them are Eduardo Constantini Jr, cofounder of MUBI and president of Costa Films; Boris Hirmas Said, member of Latin American Committee of the Tate Museum in London; and Wenceslau Casares, founder of Patagon and Bling Nation. IDEAME will initially target Argentina and Chile but will later expand to Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, and other Latin American countries.

There is an extraordinary pool of creative and innovative talent in Latin America which faces obstacles to find funding. IDEAME.com will fill that void by providing the necessary resources for those artists to turn their dreams into reality and we think it’s a great initiative.
Eduardo Constatini Jr., President of Costa Films
